1. Double-click on the Microsoft Teams icon on your Desktop



  2. After Microsoft Team opens, feel free to go through the wizard OR click the X to close



  3. On the left side is your tool menu.  The most common tool you will use is Chat



  4. To begin a new Chat Conversation with an employee, click the Pencil icon

  5. Type in their name to select that employee from the list. If you want to have a Group Conversation with multiple people, type in all of the people you want to be a part of the conversation (see second screenshot below)




  6. Type in your message and click the purple Send button/icon



  7. The person receiving the message will get a notification on their computer and can see the new message notification in Microsoft Teams



  8. You can Close Microsoft Teams if you'd like - it will continue to run in the background and inform you when you get new messages with a pop-up similar to Outlook
